The return of the WYOís St. Patrickísí Day Celebration! Craicmore, a contemporary, traditional Celtic band rooted in the music of Scotland and Ireland, features the critically acclaimed vocals of contralto Nancy Johnston. Her deep, rich voice is rare in a genre most often sung in the soprano range. Driving rhythms from guitar, bass, Bohdran drum, conga, and other percussion, along with high-spirited whistles, flutes, and pipes, powerfully render jigs & reels, the dance music of Ireland. Clear vocal harmonies support songs of love and courting from the Celtic lands. Rhythmic hardshoe dancing, an East Indian Shruti Box, and rumbling Didjeridoo, all accent the warmth and passion of Craicmore's fiery performances.

"Wonderfully harmonious Gaelic vocals, both Scots and Irish versions, and crisp instrumental sets. Lead singer Nancy Johnston has a velvety voice." -Dirty Linen, Folk and World Music Magazine

ìCeltic music that touches the heart, mind, and soul. Drawing on Scottish and Irish roots, Craicmore (Irish for 'Great Fun') enriches the tradition of joyful Celtic music.î -Flagstaff LIVE arts and entertainment weekly..
