Patty Larkin will give a free workshop on Saturday, March 10 at 1:00 pm for any guitarists. Bring your instrument!

The brainchild of Patty Larkin, La Guitara showcases the talents of three very different women in one evening.

Ms. Larkin offers talented songwriting and inventive guitar playing in the folk tradition, but with influences from genres as diverse as Celtic and funk music.

Ellen McIlwaine is ostensibly one of the countries best slide blues guitarists.

Badi Assad brings an international flair to the bill with Brazilian influenced jazz, world beat originals and even classical style compositions.

"The goal of La Guitara is to better define the contribution of women to the history of modern guitar," explains Ms. Larkin."I have been asked repeatedly, Why are there no great female guitar players? The answer is, There are."
