O'Connor has formed the Appalachia Waltz Trio with young musicians Natalie Haas, cello and Carol Cook, viola to tour with music from his two CDs, Appalachia Waltz and Appalachian Journey, with cellist Yo Yo Ma, as well as other original compositions.
Mr. O'Connor has played with the best bluegrass musicians and contributed music to the PBS documentary on the American Revolution, which was later released as an album called Liberty! on Sony Classical. He also contributed to the Oscar-nominated score of The Patriot, and played on the soundtrack of the Ron Maxwell film, Gods and Generals, released in 2003.
