Alycia Duprey-Vince, jazz singer and vocal artist, is joined by top-notch professional musicians from New York, New Jersey, Michigan, and Texas to debut her first jazz album, If It Wasn't For You. The album consists of Alycia's original pieces as well as recognizable standards, all arranged in the form of duo performances, resulting in an organic, fresh sound.
Originally from Sheridan, Alycia attended the School of Music at Western Michigan University on a jazz scholarship after being drawn to Michigan by Professor Sunny Wilkinson-Newman. The school presented many opportunities for Alycia, including three years in the world acclaimed vocal jazz group Gold Company. She was privileged to travel the country with the group, including trips to New York City to perform and solo in Carnegie Hall and Lincoln Center. In her post-college experiences, Alycia was featured as the vocalist and co-manager of a Portuguese Brazilian band and worked in Cleveland for performances with The Brazil Project with Jamey Haddad, and Tom Knific. Through various opportunities, she has shared the stage and performed with jazz artists such as Fred Hersch, Bobby McFerrin, Billy Hart, Sunny Wilkinson, and Janis Segal. She has also taken part in the albums All I Need for Brian Fraaza and Parallels with Drew Raklovits. Alycia was asked to write for and join Ryan Andrews on his new CD Requiem and is now proudly debuting her own for her hometown crowd.
