The WYO Theater presents what promises to be an annual showcase of Wyoming's best professional performers, starting with Dubois resident Mike Dowling, Sheridan's own Doug Andrews, and the Pickin' Chicks.

A professional career that's spanned four decades has taken Mike from sideman, session player and band leader, to solo performer and composer of amazing versatility. Firmly grounded in authenticity and possessed of a musical soul as old as the vintage instruments he favors, Mike draws inspiration from deep within the musical bag of American roots guitar styles. Influenced by traditional Piedmont style fingerpickers like Mississippi John Hurt and swing jazz legends like the great George Barnes, Mike's developed a style, uniquely his own, that he translates fluently to arch top, flat top, and resonator guitars alike. From bottleneck blues on a well-worn National to elegant swing interpretations reminiscent of the great old jazz artists, Mike Dowling can do it all.

The Andrews Family Singer Born and raised in Wyoming Doug Andrews is an emerging singer/songwriter ready to take on the world. Most recently seen as The Craft Brothers versatile sidekick, Doug writes and performs his own music which, if one were to categorize under a single musical umbrella, might be Acoustic, Folksy, Bluesy, Americana-ish, with a hint of bluegrass thrown in there somewhere. It's a big umbrella.

The Pickin' Chicks, nineteen-year-olds Margaret and Magdalena Taberna of Big Horn, have been immersing themselves in the roots of acoustic music and play a repertoire including Bill Monroe, Earl Scruggs, Ricky Skaggs, Special Consensus, Tim O'Brien, and Stuart Duncan. They sing and play banjo and mandolin, respectively, with Margaret playing occasional guitar as well.
