Following THE JOHN JORGENSON QUINTET'S performance at the WYO in September '05, it was obvious the group would be back. The audience was dazzled by John's guitar work as well as his masterful clarinet playing and singing. Jorgenson is a founder and one of the best practitioners of the American gypsy jazz movement. Before dedicating himself to gypsy jazz, Jorgensen created a name for himself as a founding member of the Desert Rose Band and the Hellecasters. He also was a member of Elton John's band for six years. Sponsors: The Best Western Sheridan Center with additional donations from Dr. Walter & Vera Gould. Also supported in part by grants from the Western States Arts Federation (WESTAF) and the Wyoming Arts Council, through funding from the Wyoming State Legislature and the National Endowment for the Arts, which believes that a great nation deserves great art. |
