WYO’S NEW VAUDEVILLIANSAugust 22, 2024
The WYO’s New Vaudevillians are heading into their 9th and most entertaining summer yet! And, like all performances before it, the New Vaudevillians will feature a NEW line-up – comedy, magic, singing and dancing – it’s fast paced, it’s fun, it’s new vaudeville in the oldest vaudeville theater in Wyoming and it’s an event you won’t want to miss!

What happens when the scientist star of the show doesn’t show up for a gig? Well, one must allow the custodian “Crash,” to jump on stage and fill in! Performing large scale experiments, Crash uses his custodial supplies to generate a fun and educational experience like no other!

CRYSTAL GAYLE OPENS THE 35TH SEASONSeptember 22, 2024
Crystal Gayle was born Brenda Gail Webb in Paintsville, KY, on January 9. Her older sister was future superstar and Grand Ole Opry member Loretta Lynn, though Loretta had already left home by the time Brenda was born. To escape constant comparison to her sister, Crystal wisely developed her own vocal and musical style. She had 20 No. 1 country singles, beginning with “I’ll Get Over You” and including her signature song, “Don’t It Make My Brown Eyes Blue.” That song earned Crystal a Grammy for Best Female Country Vocal Performance and also made her album We Must Believe In Magic the first by a female country artist to go platinum.

NATIONAL THEATRE LIVE – September 2024 thru May 2025
National Theatre Live brings the best of British theatre to cinema screens all over the world. With state-of-the-art filming techniques, from close-ups that capture every flicker of emotion, to sweeping wide shots of the stage, you’ll have the best seats in the house. Past titles have included The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time, Follies, Frankenstein, Fleabag and The Crucible among others.

2024 WYO PREMIERE: TOOTSIE – October 19, 2024; Show Run: October 20, 24-27, 2024
Based on the hit comedy film starring Dustin Hoffman and ranked as one of the best comedies of all-time on American Film Institute’s list of “100 Years…100 Laughs,” Tootsie has had audiences rolling in the aisles in what was hailed as “Broadway’s funniest new musical!” (The New York Post). With music and lyrics by Tony Award-winner David Yazbek (The Band’s Visit, Dirty Rotten Scoundrels) and a laugh-out-loud book by Tony Award-winner Robert Horn (13 the Musical, Shucked), it comes as no surprise that Tootsie won Best Book of a Musical and received a staggering 11 Tony Award Nominations, including Best Musical and Best Original Score.

MET LIVE IN HD – October 2024 thru May 2025
The Met: Live in HD, the Metropolitan Opera’s award-winning series of live high-definition cinema simulcasts, opens its 18th season in October 2024, with a live transmission of Offenbach’s Les Contes d’Hoffmann. The season also features the Met premiere and live transmission of Jeanine Tesori’s new opera Grounded, new stagings of Strauss’s Salome, and Verdi’s Aida. The first-ever Met Live in HD transmission of Beethoven’s Fidelio, along with Puccini’s Tosca, Mozart’s Le Nozze di Figaro, and Rossini’s Il Barbiere di Siviglia.

TRIDENT & WYO THEATER: THE ROCKY HORROR PICTURE SHOW
– October 31, 2024

One rainy night, newly-engaged couple Brad Majors and Janet Weiss find themselves by chance at the castle of Dr. Frank-N-Furter. They discover that him, along with his bizarre entourage, are having a party. But this is no ordinary party and no ordinary night. This cult-classic musical with a local shadow cast will play at the WYO Theater to celebrate Halloween.

VILLALOBOS BROTHERS FOR DIA DE LOS MUERTOS – November 1, 2024
The Villalobos Brothers are a GRAMMY-Award-winning family band, recognized as one of the foremost Contemporary Mexican ensembles in the world. With their unique fusion of Mexican folk, jazz, and classical music, they have captivated audiences across the United States, Mexico, India, Russia, and Canada and will celebrate Dia de los Muertos (Day of the Dead) at the WYO.

*THE REMEMBER BALLOONS – November 7, 2024 (1 free student matinee)
Created by Director/Choreographer Dominic Moore-Dunson (who was in residence during the 2023-2024 season), recognized in Dance Magazine’s prestigious “25 to Watch” list for 2023, this dance production breathes life into “The Remember Balloons” story by bringing it to the stage! Beautifully accompanied by an original score composed by Theron Brown, the show incorporates digital projections and voiceover narration to complement Moore-Dunson’s theatrical choreography, resulting in an experience built for the entire family.

WARREN MILLER 75– November 26, 2024
The lineage of mountain lifestyle continues in Warren Miller Entertainment’s (WME) 75th full-length feature film.

*SAN DIEGO BALLET’S NUTCRACKER – December 6-8, 2024 (1 free student matinee / week-long residency)
America’s favorite holiday event! The San Diego Ballet’s Nutcracker features an international cast from China, Japan, Russia, South Africa and Mexico as well as children from Sheridan County. This ballet fantasy delights with over 100 beautifully costumed dancers, reveling in Tchaikovsky’s beloved score.

CLASSIC WESTERN FILM SERIES – January 5, 12, 19, 26, 2025
Four Sundays in January, take a stroll to the WYO and experience classic Westerns on the big screen. Every film features a guest host who will provide a bit of entertainment and insight into a popular Western that has since become a classic. You might even remember seeing these films on the WYO screen when they were first released all those years ago. What a wonderful way to spend an afternoon; with your favorite movie stars at your favorite theater and don’t forget the free popcorn!

*123 ANDRES – January 23, 2025 (2 free student matinees)
Andrés and Christina are the Latin Grammy-winning music duo 123 Andrés. Their catchy songs and lively concerts get the whole family dancing and learning, in Spanish and English.

*THE ALUMINUM SHOW – January 30, 2025 (1 free student matinee)
A unique and energetic experience for the entire family is a stimulating tour de force which combines movement, dance, visual theater and plenty of humor. After its 2003 debut in Jerusalem at the Israel Festival, the show gained worldwide recognition and for years has mesmerized hundreds of thousands of people across the globe.

*SERAPH BRASS – February 6, 2025
Celebrating its tenth-anniversary season, Seraph Brass was founded by trumpet soloist Mary Elizabeth Bowden with a mission to showcase the excellence of female brass players and highlight musicians from marginalized groups, both in personnel and in programming. Winners of the American Prize in Chamber Music, the group has been praised for their “beautiful sounds” (American Record Guide), “fine playing” (Gramophone), and “staggeringly high caliber of performance” (Textura). Seraph primarily performs as a quintet, with a dynamic roster drawing from America’s top brass musicians.

DAMN TALL BUILDINGS WITH THE TWO TRACKS – February 8, 2025
If you like your bluegrass served with a little punch, attitude, grit and gravy then the Damn Tall Buildings will slide in nice to your listening rotation. Performing with local group, The Two Tracks who avoid many of the cliches and gimmicks that have grown common in the Americana world while still championing a natural, Earth-grown sound. It’s pure musicianship, it’s pure excellence, it’s pure Bluegrass/Americana at the WYO for Winter Rodeo.

WYO/CTG CO-PRODUCTION: MISERY – February 14-16 & 20-23, 2025
Each year the WYO Theater and Civic Theatre Guild join efforts to present a “co-production” at the WYO Theater. Teaming with local talent, the annual co-production is a highly anticipated, well-loved event. The 2025 WYO/CTG Co-Production will be Misery, based on the novel by Stephen King and directed by Aaron Odom, Misery follows successful romance novelist Paul Sheldon, who is rescued from a car crash by his “number one fan,” Annie Wilkes, and wakes up captive in her secluded home. While Paul is convalescing, Annie reads his latest book and becomes enraged when she discovers the author has killed off her favorite character, Misery Chastain. Annie forces Paul to write a new Misery novel, and he quickly realizes Annie has no intention of letting him go anywhere. The irate Annie has Paul writing as if his life depends on it, and it does.

TRAILBLAZING WOMEN OF COUNTRY: FROM PATSY TO LORETTA TO DOLLY – March 1, 2025
Patsy Cline, Loretta Lynn, and Dolly Parton revolutionized country music and blazed a trail for future generations of female artists. With their chart-topping hits and record-breaking sales, Patsy, Loretta, and Dolly wove threads of contemporary womanhood throughout the tapestry of country music, resulting in unprecedented commercial success and earning each a place in the Country Music Hall of Fame.

A reimagining of Peter Pan as told by Wendy Darling. Through her open window, Wendy Darling gazes out at the night sky, dreaming of blue lagoons, magical moons, and the stories that she can tell, but tonight, there is magic in the air …

DAN MILLER’S COWBOY MUSIC REVUE – March 14, 2025
Dan Miller and his Cowboy Music Revue have been entertaining audiences from around the world for 20 years. Over 200,000 people from almost 70 foreign countries have enjoyed the first-class musicianship and family-friendly production that this group is famous for.

*DRAGONS & MYTHICAL BEASTS – March 25, 2025 (1 free student matinee)
Unveil a myriad of dark secrets and come face to face with some of the most magnificent monsters and terrifying beasts ever to walk the earth. Discover the colossal Stone Troll, the mysterious Indrik and Japanese Baku; the Tooth Fairy (not as sweet as you’d think), an adorable Unicorn and majestic Griffin. Take your place among legendary heroes, just don’t wake the Dragon…

WYO THEATER’S BENEFIT BALL WITH THE GLENN MILLER ORCHESTRA – March 29 & 30, 2025
The WYO Theater is excited to present an evening of dancing with The World-Famous Glenn Miller Orchestra at the Shrine Auditorium Saturday March 29 followed by an afternoon concert at the WYO Sunday, March 30, 2025. This event will take the place of WYO Gala as the sole fundraising event of the season.

THE WORLD FAMOUS GLENN MILLER ORCHESTRA – March 30, 2025 is the most popular and sought after big band in the world today for both concert and swing dance engagements. With its unique jazz sound, the Glenn Miller Orchestra is considered to be one of the greatest bands of all time. The present Glenn Miller Orchestra was formed in 1956 and has been touring consistently since, playing an average of 300 live dates a year all around the world.

*GRUFFALO’S CHILD – April 3, 2025 (2 free student matinees)
One wild and windy night the Gruffalo’s Child ignores her father’s warnings about the Big Bad Mouse and tiptoes out into the deep dark wood. She follows snowy tracks and encounters mysterious creatures – but the Big Bad Mouse doesn’t really exist… does he? Let your imagination run wild with songs, laughs and scary fun for everyone aged 3 to 103.

YESTERDAY & TODAY: THE INTERACTIVE BEATLES EXPERIENCE – April 11, 2025
This amazing band, anchored by brothers Billy, Matthew and Ryan McGuigan, perform as themselves and leave the song choices completely in the hands of the audience. This is done through request cards that audience members fill out prior to the show. On the cards audience members only need to fill out three things: their name, their favorite Beatles song and the reason why they chose that song. The cards are collected and minutes before the show begins, a set list is created based upon the songs chosen by that particular audience. As an added treat, the reasons that the audience members chose those songs make up the narrative of the evening. Every show is different, every show is interactive and every show proves that the Beatles music truly is the soundtrack to our lives.

US ARMY FIELD BAND – April 27, 2025 (not available for sponsorship)
Since 1756, Army bands have stood side-by-side with Americans helping inspire them during times of peril. The United States Army Field Band focuses on serving communities across the country the best way it can, by maintaining a connection between the American people and its Army.

*BINDLESTIFF FAMILY CIRKUS – May 1, 2025 (2 outreach activities)
Bindlestiff Family Variety Arts, Inc., founded by Keith Nelson and Stephanie Monseu in 1995, prides itself on being an integral part of America’s outstanding folk traditions of circus, sideshow, and vaudeville. Bindlestiff’s activities fall into three main areas. First, producing original shows, festivals, and public events. Over the decades, Bindlestiff has presented nearly 600 of the world’s top artists in the circus and variety fields. Shows in their home regions of NYC and the Hudson Valley, as well as national touring in the United States, have engaged audiences in the hundreds of thousands, with performances in theaters, Spiegeltents, big tops, cruise ships, fairs and festivals, including 2017’s Smithsonian Folklife Festival, celebrating the cultural heritage of the American circus on the National Mall in Washington, D.C.

Jalan has opened for, or shared concert stages with, Robert Earl Keen, Nitty Gritty Dirt Band, Taj Majal, Charlie Daniels, Shovels & Rope, Shakey Graves, The Ozark Mountain Daredevils, Steve Earl, Ray Wiley Hubbard, The Grand Teton Symphony, Earl Scruggs, John Hartford, Corb Lund & The Hurtin’ Albertans, Ballet Wyoming (playing, not dancing), The Young Dubliners, Reckless Kelly, Mike Gordon (Phish), Sam Bush, Leon Redbone, Big Head Todd & The Monsters, John McEwen (Dirt Band), Marty Stewart, Peter Rowan, Michael Martin Murphy, Norman Blake, and more.

ALWAYS . . . PATSY CLINE – June, 2025
Presented by the WYO Theater and featuring a delightful local cast Always…Patsy Cline is a timeless tale of friendship and great music. In 1961, country music legend Patsy Cline met Louise Seger, a fan from Houston, at a honky-tonk. The two struck up a friendship that continued via letter-writing until the singer’s tragic death years later. First premiering at Stages 35 years ago, Always…Patsy Cline welcomes home the fans who made it a hit and invites new generations to discover Patsy and Louise.
